Our weekly sessions
We meet for regular runs three times a week: Tuesday intervals, Thursday club runs (socials and tempo), and Sunday morning sessions (10 Before 10 and 10@10).
Below we outline the different sessions, locations, and times. Check out Facebook for the weekly post which will give all the session details.
Want to host a session? Check out our Guide to Hosting an FRC Session (coming soon) for briefing notes and details on how to volunteer, or find out more about upcoming races and socials on our Club Events & Race Diary pages.
About our regular sessions
-
There is no need to register for the sessions below - just show up and introduce yourself to the session host.
-
The club runs are a great way to meet other runners and make new friends.
-
We encourage everyone to pace themselves and run at a comfortable pace.
-
While FRC is free to join, members can also register for our optional England Athletics (EA) Membership for discounts, free races, and club funding support.
-
Wearing hi-vis/reflective gear and a light source is strongly recommended for all evening club runs in the dark. This is for your safety and that of others.
-
There is nowhere secure to leave belongings for the sessions on Thursdays and Sundays, nor on Tuesday sessions at Stevenage Road/Bishop’s Park - come ready to run.
What are the differences between Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday sessions?

Tuesday intervals @ 18:45
(2 Hosts Required)
Road or track workouts designed to help you improve your speed and endurance.
They are beginner friendly and last about 45 minutes.
Sessions include briefing, warm-up/drills, core session and stretching. Session details are posted on our weekly notes (Facebook and WhatsApp).
These are run at a variety of locations, and we are currently running sessions across two locations:
-
Bishops Park: meet at Alphabet Coffee (previously Kiss the Hippo) at Fulham Pier (SW6 6HT / What3Words ///LASTS.BUDDY.OCCUPY)
-
Barn Elms Track (Fee payable)
There is also a third option posted which is a self-hosted option at Paddington Track.

Thursday Club Run @ 18:45
(3 Hosts Required)
Thursdays offer a choice of training styles with two options available.
Social Runs: A longer, social evening run with a choice of two routes:
-
2 bridges (6.5km or 4 miles)
-
3 bridges (10km or 6.2 miles)
[NEW] Thursday Tempo Sessions: Meet at our regular Thursday meeting point and time to connect with your tempo session host.
From there, enjoy a 2km warm-up jog over Putney Bridge and down Deodar Road to Wandsworth Park, where we split into various pace groups.
Everyone welcome!
Everyone is welcome for either session - come and try a social run one week, and maybe a tempo run another!
All Club Runs start from Alphabet Coffee (previously Kiss the Hippo), Fulham Pier, Craven Cottage.

Sunday long run
(2 Hosts Required)
Sunday is our longest run of the week, but it always ends with coffee and cake. Join us at one of two times:
-
10 Before 10 (starting at 08:30)
-
10 @10 (starting at 10:00
There is a choice of two routes:
-
3 bridges (10km or 6 miles)
-
4 bridges (16km or 10 miles)
This run is available to all paces although some weeks it is faster, some weeks it is slower.
If you are concerned about the distance, some people have been known to do their own run and simply join for the coffee and cake at the end.
Both runs start and finish at Bishop’s Park Tea House.

Where do we run?
On Thursdays and Sundays we run along the river, counting bridges.

Two Bridges
Putney - Hammersmith
The popular one for Thursday Club Runs and a good option on a Sunday morning.
At c.4 miles/6.5k it's a great progression from 5k/parkrun, and follows the river so there is no chance to get lost.

Three Bridges
Putney - Barnes Railway Bridge
The longer option on Thursdays and popular one on Sundays.
At c.6 miles/10k this is a great one for an easy chatty run or increasing your pace on a tempo run.
Cutting through Barnes Village, there are road crossings until you get to Queen Elizabeth Walk and back on to the river.

Four Bridges
Putney - Chiswick
The longer option on Sundays, this is c.10 miles/15k and perfect for half marathon training.
And you'll definitely want that coffee & cake afterwards!

We need you (to be a Session Leader)!
Fulham Running Club is run by volunteers, and we're always on the lookout for Session Leaders on our Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday runs.
You don't need to be qualified, and we can help co-host your first session(s) until you feel comfortable.
Take a look at the Frequently Asked Questions to find out more, and get in touch if you're up for hosting a session or two!
