London Marathon Club Ballot
As affiliates of England Athletics, Fulham Running Club normally receives two places for the TCS London Marathon. The club will allocate the places at the Christmas Party in December from those members who are eligible to enter the draw.
Eligibility
Each year, we hold a ballot for the club's allocated London Marathon places at the club Christmas party. We award one spot to a male runner and one spot to a female runner based on the following eligibility criteria.
How to Apply
If you meet the criteria outlined below and would like to enter the draw, please contact Edward Bruce (Club Secretary) at fulhamrunningclubsecretary@gmail.com with:
-
Your name
-
Your main London Marathon ballot rejection
-
Brief details of three races you have competed in
-
Details of your four volunteering roles
⚠️ Deadline: Your application should be submitted as soon as possible. The absolute deadline is Monday, 1st December 2026. All applications will be acknowledged.

Eligibility Criteria
1. Volunteering
You must have volunteered for FRC at least four times in 2026. Please note that additional volunteering will increase your chances of obtaining a club ballot place (e.g., volunteering 8 times results in 2 entries, and volunteering 12 times results in 3 entries).
Eligible volunteering examples include:
-
Being a session host at club runs
-
Volunteering at FRC’s co-hosted Surrey Cross-Country League race
-
Being part of the kit manager team
-
Organising seminars, workshops, or fireside chats
-
Supporting Couch to 5K (C25K) sessions
-
Organising or hosting a club trail run
-
Being a member of the coaching team for a specific squad
-
Any other approved volunteer role for the club
If in doubt, please consult the Club Secretary.
2. Racing
You must have competed in three races (excluding parkrun) in 2026 registered as FRC. These must be verifiable on the runbritain or Power of 10 websites. If any of your chosen races are not recorded on these platforms, please include a results link with your submission.
3. Exclusivity Period
You must not have won a place through the FRC draw in the previous two years (i.e., you are ineligible if you won the club place for the 2025 or 2026 London Marathons).
4. Club Membership
You must have been a First Claim member of FRC for the 2026/2027 season (having paid the £30 EA fee by 30th June 2026) and you must have signed the England Athletics Senior Athletes Code of Conduct in the EA Portal. 👉 Renew/Register for EA Membership Here
5. Main ballot rejection
You must have entered but been unsuccessful in the main ballot entry for the 2027 London Marathon.
-
Good for Age (GFA): If you are unsuccessful with a GFA application, you may enter the club draw (your rejection email must be submitted). GFA outcomes will be communicated to applicants directly by the London Marathon.
-
Championship Places: Please note that if you are applying for a Championship place, you are not eligible to enter the club draw.
A quick note for the winner
Please note that the eventual winner will be asked to submit a race report sharing their marathon experience, which will be published for club members.
Best of luck!
