Calling all runners and volunteers! Get ready to set sail (well, sort of) for the Fulham Running Club's Boaty McBoat Race, our annual 10-mile riverside extravaganza!
This year's race takes place on Sunday 07 July and promises to be a fantastic day for runners and supporters alike.
A Boaty tradition: Celebrating community and competition
The Boaty McBoat Race has become a beloved tradition at Fulham Running Club since its launch in 2017. It wasn't just about creating a race, but about something bigger:
Giving back to the running community: Many SW London clubs offer races for FRC members. Boaty was our way of contributing and saying thank you by offering a free race for everyone.
Inclusivity in action: FRC prides itself on being welcoming to all runners. Boaty embodies that spirit, proving you can have a fantastic race without a hefty entry fee.
Building club spirit: The race is a chance for FRC members to come together, volunteer their time, and create a memorable event for the entire running community.
Race Along the Thames
The Boaty McBoat Race is a scenic 10-mile loop that winds its way along the banks of the River Thames. Here's a quick breakdown:
Start & Finish: Craven Cottage (Stevenage Road)
Route: Follows the Thames Path on both sides of the river, looping between Chiswick and Putney Bridges.
Date: Sunday 07 July
Start time: 8:30 am
Important notes for those interested in running:
Runners must be 18+ and registered with England Athletics (EA) for insurance.
There's a 2-hour cut-off time (approx. 12-minute mile pace).
Free to enter, but registration required in advance! (Closing date: 28 June)
Race registration opens at 7:30 am, followed by a briefing at 8:20 am.

More than just a race: Be a Boaty Volunteer!
