Hi everyone, Rick here with a jam-packed roundup of everything going on across Fulham Running Club as we head into autumn!

We’ve got important committee changes, cross country season launching (along with a grand gazebo debut!), an exciting kit revamp, vital winter session surveys, model call-outs, and Christmas Party tickets going live. Read on for all the details and links you need!

ExCo update: Male Welfare Officer role open

First up, Tim Haughton has stepped down as Male Welfare Officer. I want to pass on a huge thank you to Tim for all his dedication, time, and hard work on the Executive Committee—his contributions have been massively appreciated by us all.

Because this is a vital role for our community, applications are now officially open for a Male Welfare Officer to work alongside Emma Less. If you're interested in supporting our members and helping keep FRC a safe, inclusive environment, please apply using this form.

Cross Country season kicks off soon!

The mud, hills, and team spirit are back! Before diving into the fixtures, I’d like to extend a huge thank you to Tom MacKay and Alice Malin, who are stepping down as XC Captains. Thank you both for all your leadership and cheer! Joining Trevor Ingram and Alice Heath at the helm this season are our new XC Captains, Dan Mahoney and Harriet Spelman—we are super excited to have you on board!

The fixture list is locked in, starting with a joint men’s and women’s opener:

  • 10 October: Surrey League XC Round 1 – Reigate

  • 17 October: XC Relays – Wormwood Scrubs

  • 14 November: Surrey League XC Round 2 – Location TBC

  • 16 January: Surrey League XC Round 3 – Location TBC

  • 13 February: Surrey League XC Round 4 – Location TBC

You can register for all XC events here. Remember, you need to be England Athletics registered to compete (register for EA membership here)—and your EA registration covers four FREE XC races!

Having our men's and women's teams competing together at the same venues is going to create an amazing atmosphere, so let’s get as many people out running and cheering as possible.

Bonus: Keep an eye out for our BRAND NEW BRANDED GAZEBO making its official debut on 10 October at Reigate! Huge thanks to Maddie Barrow for organising this beauty.

Retiring casual kit & new kit teaser!

We have a massive update from our kit managers (Kate O'Neill, Jonty Bennett, and Sandra Liscio): new FRC kit designs are officially in the works! Expect fresh activewear, new casual gear, and updated designs landing in the future.

To make room, we are retiring our CURRENT casual kit from the site. This includes casual tops, jumpers, hats, and 20th-anniversary gear (racing stripes remain unaffected). These items will only be available on the site for a few more weeks, so grab yours before they're gone forever!

Word on the street is that there are only 4 pairs of socks left and just over a dozen buffs, which have been discounted to just £3! Check out the FRC Shop here to grab a bargain.

Winter running & Barn Elms track survey

As the nights draw in, safety is our top priority. Please remember that hi-vis and lights are mandatory for all evening runs moving forward—staying visible keeps us all running safely.

Here are two key session changes for the winter months:

  • Tempo Sessions: Building on the summer success in Wandsworth Park, Tempo sessions are moving to Stevenage Road for the winter. Thursday and Sunday social runs continue unchanged (with lights/hi-vis!).

  • Barn Elms Track Proposal: To ensure we have full lighting and changing facilities on dark nights, we are proposing a winter venue move to Wimbledon Park Athletics Track.

We want to hear your thoughts! If you haven't already, please fill in Ed's track survey here to have your say.

Fancy yourself a model?

We're giving our website and social channels a major glow-up, and we want YOU to be the face of FRC!

Our very own Francois will be heading up a weekend photoshoot in late October or early November. Because FRC is built on community, accessibility, and fun, we want members of all ages (18 to 70+), builds, experience levels, and paces—you definitely don't need to be the fastest runner on the track! Shots will cover running, stretching, and socialising at Bishop's Park / Fulham Pier and Barn Elms Track.

Ready to put your best side forward? Sign up to be a model here!
